Meet District 8 Council Member Melissa Mark Viverito as she conducts talks with women artists working in East Harlem, Tanya Torres & Tara Parsons. Born in New York City from Puerto Rican parents, Ms. Torres is an artist and writer who celebrates life, nature and joy through her work. Ms. Parsons, on the other hand, creates installations, sculpture, and participatory art projects that challenge audiences to become part of the creation process, and engages viewers through action. In distinct ways, they represent the artistic and cultural diversity of women artists working in East Harlem. Light food and drinks will be served! Space is limited.
